Does WCG work with regular BOINC?

Possibly, a silly question, but does World Community Grid work with a regular BOINC program download? The reason I ask this is that on the distributedcomputing.info site, many projects have a (BOINC) classification, but the World Community Grid projects have their own (World Community Grid) classification.

Could someone please enlighten me on this?

Yep, WCG is a BOINC project. Go for it!

WCG used to use a different platform but it is now all BOINC.

If you have BOINC already installed then just attach as you would to any other project. The project url is http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/
