Looks good, however, the wait is pretty high right now.
I run a quake server online co-located in Los Angeles if anyone is interested.
It's been highly modified with less gravity and hi speed shooting to make it more fun and challenging.

both game servers will be available until March 25th, 2009
Heavily modified Quake III game server, lots of fun.

Heard about this but only just got around to trying it this morning. I did the skill-determing match against a bot and hope to have some matches against the general public later. :)

I had read that you have to get in a queue (of sometimes tens of thousands) and wait for your turn before you actually get to play. Is this still true?

When I see a high queue number, I just go away and try again later.
Mostly just hit my own Quake server tho ;)
