How about a short "how to" for those of us who do not know how to use the IRC channels.

Currently, we have 2 irc servers available.

irc.mainetech.net on the east coast

irc.Free-DC.org on the west coast

We are working on web-based clients and hope to have them up soon. We didn't expect this much traffic so soon.

mIRC and X-Chat are good window based irc clients.

mIRC can be found here:
http://www.mirc.com/get.html

X-Chat can be found here:http://www.xchat.org

Good idea outlnder! How about this? :)

Click here to use your Browser and our Java client (http://www.free-dc.org/cgi-bin/chat/chat1.html) to join in all the fun right now! Why wait any longer? :D

erm... tried that - and I waited, and waited, and waited - are you sure its all setup nicely ?

http://irc.dotdotnetdot.net:8080/distributed.html uses a different java chat that despite the need to download a hefty chunk of java, actually tends to load inside of 40 seconds or so.

If you want a copy - send me an e-mail, and I'll tar it up and send it down

For a good free stand-alone client, try Xircon - www.xircon.com

It's easy to learn and supports multiple servers.

Get the kano script when you are ready.

Thanks frag! I like choices. :D

I tested the link, and it takes me instantly to either server, don't know if there was something wrong that day or not. But, we got the registration KEY finally, so at least no one has to deal with the 'unregistered copy' annonyance.

Email on the way, thank! :)
