2008 Stats Issues

Hi guys!
I have an issue with stats tool. I've registered already, and when I start Statstool Configuration it offers me: Do you wish to create an entry for statstool based on your currently logged in name of vl@die? I click Create, but then I get the same message again and again :confused:. So are there any solutions for this problem?

It's because I pull the team scores direct from here (http://www.henleyclan.co.uk/sobsieve/alltime/scores_t.htm) which are the official scores, rather than calculate it via combination of the users scores..

Maybe they are wrong, or perhaps they only count scores made whilst in the team like Boinc or SOB do and you weren't always on the team?

looks like several (if not all) non-boinc projects stopped updating since about the same timeframe.

They hung up trying to get the stats from OGR. Never done that before. I'll have to alter the driver for OGR and RC572 to use a useragent (which I've been doing on all of them gradually) so it allows a timeout. Dimes suffered from that too until I changed it recently.

Unfortunately due to the way it all cycles now (which does far outweigh thecons) it holds up everything else.

Running the rollover script now, so those scores will be slightly inaccurate, then I'll kick off the main script.

My guess is that Top 10 Team opportunities is the next 10 team members you will steamroll, whereas the Top 10 Project opportunities is the next 10 members in the entire project you will crush beneath your mighty farm.

Since guru is the only Free-DCer you're on target to pass, they're the only one listed in the Team column. You will overtake more than 10 contributers to the entire project, so ten are listed there. It's a coincidence that guru happens to be one of them.

Bok - in UCT Malaria Control Test Project the stats appear to update very infrequently. This affects your stats tool in that it doesn't display any work done each day. Is it possible to correct this?

They only export the xml once per day unfortunately. You could try petitioning them to increase this...

I try to ask new projects at the start to do 4x per day and I would encourage everyone ask projects to do this.

The project totals with the asterick are showing the totals not for Thursday but for Wednesday. I might not understand what the asterick means but is that what you want to show??

Hi Delburt.

You did well to notice the Asterisk.

It means that the stats on the site have rolled over from the previous day, but an update is not yet available for that project today.

So, for the time between the stats rollover and the next project extract being processed, the stats will show the last update from yesterday on the project page.

During that time there will be an Asterisk next to the "Today" on the project page.

As soon as a stats extract is available from the project, it is processed and the new stats for today will be shown without the Asterisk.

When I try to access the BoincWCG website using the link at the top of the Project page, I get forbidden from this server. The link is http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/boinc/. If I take the boinc away I get to the WCG homepage, but the points are completely different than the Boinc cobblestones.

Can you link to the BoincWCG page that gives the Boinc cobblestones??

It's an ongoing minor issue.

Old user was flagged for deletion in my stats, I just don't do it automatically as it's gone wrong once or twice. Shouldn't show up in that list though, so the php needs correcting.

I've manually deleted it now so it will be gone in the main stats soon.

Kodak - can't see an issue with this looking at both teams and sorting by total credit both tables look the same now or is it the text above that doesn't render correctly the issue, i.e is it Cyrillic and if so what charset is being used I'm thinking it's a charset issue as some don't render properly with auto-detect in browsers.
Have tried various to over-ride charset settings but not happening think this one to be looked into a bit more if that's the case.

My thought was the rendering as it's wrong when I look at it. But then it actually might be the exported XML where it is incorrect.

I've got it a little better. One change we had on the dev site was to correctly use html_entity_decode and somehow that had not been migrated to live.

But it's still not quite right and I can't figure out why.. Have sent a message to the boinc mailing lists to see if anyone has suggestions. I'm thinking it might be an apache misconfiguration perhaps.

I've tried to see page http://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/team_display.php?teamid=328 with different encoding with my Opera 9.62. That page looks as encoded with Unicode UTF-8.

I'm not deleting old data in real time automatically as discussed in a few other threads... it gets deleted after a period of time just in case it's caused by the project servers themselves..

You can always tell, because the users aren't included during ranking, thereby showing multiple rankings of the same number...in some places I parse these out in the php, but not everywhere.

I've ran a manual delete of old rc572 users though, which will propagate to the live tables within 30mins or so.

I think you might be confusing the standard WCG points with their BOINC equivalent which is basically divided by 7. I've checked the exported xml stats which I use to generate the pages and it's shows your points correctly.
