:help:
I apologize for posting this to your forum, but I am unable to post to any other forum, including the one I joined for (Seventeen or Bust).

I am a 100% newbie to these forums, but I am thwarted at every turn in an attempt to get some help. Basically all of the forums except this one show...

You may not post new threads
You may not post replies
You may not post attachments
You may not edit your posts.

All of the links people have provided in other posts regarding getting help return the 404 Not found...., or say that I don't have permission. Attempts to email a forum moderator also state that I don't have permission.

What have I done wrong, or not done! I registered and used my correct email address. I subscribed to the Seventeen or bust forum (I didn't think this was necessary, as I didn't want the forum emailed to me, but I was getting desperate).

Any help from anyone would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Welnic

Most forums like this you have to be registered and logged in in order to post anything. To me it sounds like you are registered but not logged in. Some forums when you register send you an email which you then have to open and click on a link in the email. This is a basic test that it is a valid email address.

If you have done that then you still need to login the first time you visit the site afterwards. I went to a different computer than the one that I normally use and when I visited this forum there was a little login box in the lower right hand corner. After you do it once you can have your browser accept a cookie and then you will be automatically logged in when you visit the site again. That actually makes it hard to figure out how to fix your problem for the rest of us since we can't even tell how you log in since it happens automatically.

Sorry I didn't mention it but I do log on. I took your advice and tried from a different machine (using Explorer instead of my normal Netscape), and that didn't work.

I'd seen that they might send you email, but I registered on the 17th, and figured that wasn't the problem.

Based on your reply I've changed my email address, and have since received a confirmation, THANKS!. I've received other email from that original email address, so I know that email address is valid.

Thanks again. Problem solved.

PS. Should I delete this thread?
