Has anyone else noticed that often if DF is interupted (this is on Win2k, on my own box) by a crash etc That when it starts back up, it starts from zero although the df directory is full of results??

Just I was wondering if its possible to upload them, so they are wasted ?

I assumed I could edit the txt file that df keeps on what its done and manually insert all the files names, but so far I haven't had sucess, could just be doing it wrong.

Does anyone have any answers or solutions ?

Thanks,

Yeah, I've seen this happen, too. To be honest, I've never bothered trying to upload the results. Perhaps someone else could shed some light on this?

Just on occasion its been a whole weekends worth of work, which is a waste for a small time cruncher like myself.

Pointwood is correct. This has happened to me a couple of times also, and I believe that what happened is that filelist.txt got folded, spindled, and mutilated.

Solution: First do your regular upload run, which will take care of all the most-recently generated files and the good filelist.txt. Then run the procedure listed at Ars, which will rebuild a filelist.txt for all the "orphaned" files, matching up the "val.bz2" with the "log.bz2" files. Make a second update run.

After the second run, you'll have a couple of the handle.val.bz2 files left, which you can delete. :)

PS. Make a backup of the entire directory before you do anything, in case something vital gets deleted. ;)
