Burp More bandwidth, more diskspace, more TV

Today the technician came by and enabled yet another internet connection to the main server. It will be properly set up and configured this weekend. The main webserver is having a faulty root harddrive. Luckily most harddrives these days are equipped with S.M.A.R.T. features that allow them to report that they are dying ahead of time. I'm taking the opportunity to replace that and another drive with some beefy new 2TB drives in anticipation of a lot of data related to some big HDR rendering projects later this year. Most of the work on the drives is done already and I'm just waiting for the remaining files to be copied over. The switchover to the new drives will cause a bit of downtime - this will also happen during the weekend. Lastly, BURP (through the renderfarm.fi sister project) was represented at the annual Assembly gathering in Finland this year.
