After you read this you will probably think I have too much time on my hands. It's true I have a lot and that comes with being semiretired.

I've been around Boinc since the start and have a healthy collection of credit. The only good it does me is bragging rights over Laurenu2 for now. All of us that crunch earn credit but is has been worthless until now. If I had the ability to implement this I would. I don't so I'll throw the ideas out here and see if anyone wants to try it. So as to not get too long winded, each major piece of the puzzle will follow in a seperate post.

The first piece of this puzzle is BIB. That's the Boinc International Bank.

This would be setup so anyone running Boinc can signup and create a bank account. It could be a savings, checking, money market or anything else. You might want to have more that one. Some of them would earn interest. Using a similiar process to what the stats sites use, your daily credit would be added to your bank account(s). Your current credit would not be added. You would be paid in the local currency for whatever projects such as :

Milkyway = Boinc Dollars
GPUGrid = Boinc Euros
CPDN = Boinc Pounds

You could choose to leave them in the currency paid or have them automatically converted to the currency of your choice upon deposit using the current exchange rate. Like real life the exchange rate would be governed by supply and demand.

You could even have a mechanism for Boinc loans for a price.

Ok, we have Boinc money but what do we do with it? You could start with currency trading to try to make more money.

Next comes the BSE. That's the Boinc Stock Exchange.

At some point the BSE could decide to issue shares in any project in an IPO. Those with enough Boinc money could purchase these shares. I feel that no individual should be able to own more than half of the stock for any project. Trading price would depend on supply and demand. Stock would be traded in the local currency of the project. A quarterly dividend could be paid depending on how well a project does in its real world mission.

Don't have enough money to purchase the stock you want. This is where the Boinc loans come it. Default on your loan and the bank gets the stock.

Pick a project like predictor and when it shuts down your stock becomes worthless.

Next comes some online games. You know the ones. They claim to be free but to get the good gear you have to give them some real money.

These could be setup to be paid for using Boinc money only. It could charge a monthly fee and for the goodies. Best of all you would only be playing against other Boincers since they are the only ones who have access to Boinc money.

How about a Boinc Tavern. A place to relax and talk with other Boincers. You will be charge the price of a Boinc Beer every half an hour for the privilege though. Want to celebrate some? Come and buy a round for the house. You'll be charge the price of a beer foe everyone in the Tavern at that time and they will all be able to stay a half an hour longer and celebrate with you.

This is the last one I have for now and one of my favorites. The Boinc Casino. Come it and gamble with your Boinc money. You could win big or you could lose it all. Oh well, at least it's not real money.

The above are not intended to be an all inclusive list but just some of my thoughts. The basic idea is to give us something to do with the credit we earn without affecting our stats. It also might encourage others to Boinc since you have to be actively earning credit to participate.

Letme see if I can clarify it a little bit. It would have no effect on your Boinc credit such as it is reported by this and other stats sights. The Credit earned each day is used to calculate how much Boinc Money to add to your account each day.

As an example, let's say I earned 25,000 credits today with 5000 from Milkyway and 20,000 From GPUGrid. What would would be deposited would depend on how I setup my account.

One possibility would be :
5,000 Boinc Dollars for Milkyway
20,000 Boinc Euros for GPUGrid

Another possibility:
5,000 Boinc Dollars for Milkyway
27,000 Boinc Dollars for GPUGrid (20,000 * 1.35)

Yet another possibility:
3550 Boinc Euros for Milkyway (5,000 * .71)
20,000 Boinc Euros for GPUGrid

The above were calculated using the current real world exchange rates. What the exchange rates would be in Boincworld would be based on supply and demand.
