I havn't had time lately to keep up to date on stuff. in fact it's been over a week since i even visited the forums.
just wondering, how are the beta's progressing? are they prooving to be more usefull than the current programs? faster? more accurate? less doublage of work?
what exactly is being targeted with them?
(brief answers only please, i'm no scientist)

I think we're up to 40 people folding with the beta client. And with that small group, and less than a week of folding - we have 10 proteins under the 6.50 RMS rating. You'll have to wait for Howard's word on whether the current best beta protein is better than the current best protein here. (If you look in the beta 4 thread, you'll notice that AMD_is_logical changed the rules a bit on a few of his machines to test something out.. :)
Once the beta's bugs get worked out so everyone can use it - we'll be able to get lower RMS scores.
While it gets lower scores faster - it produces results slower. A machine that was getting a little over 50k/day with the current released program has earned a score of 12k over 4 days.
However, with 14+ machines producing 1.5+ mil a day for several weeks, I managed to get a 6.5AA RMS score on the normal program.
1 machine, that could have done 50k/day - has in 4 days got down to 6.78 RMS. I'm impressed..
