it is still on the system but it wont load the engine for ecdc6
and tells me to reload ecdc6 again
I have gone to roxio no answers
I have all the updates for xp pro and ecdc6

Excellent! And the answer is? Others may need to know later on ;)
Sounds like no fun :(
Right, tell us Anarchy99, it might be useful for us.
My advice would be to install other OS (but that's only because I really hate XPs and their fancy features (activation, size, etc...) )

OK IB
your right
others may want to know true
well first off
if you have any windows product and are using any easy cd creator product you need to uninstall it completely from your system before you upgrade but especially if you have any NT based OS
if you make the fatal error of upgrading before you remove it you have your work cut-out for you
first remove the program and all its attachments, then you get to search through your registry for any and all pieces of it
now you can use your abounding abilities or like me you can get a program like add and remove for good and ad-aware's adwatch and registry edit tools and use them to do all the work
then when done make sure you reboot and all is good with system now that the app is gone
update "ALL" of your cd-roms, cd-dvd roms, dvd players or you will hate your self in the end
if you cant update to drivers for the new OS have them on hand on your desktop for the upgrade
do your upgrade, in my case XP pro
solve all hardware conflicts before the re-instalation of the app
now this is important
only load the apps in the software that you have hardware for
example, cd-rw load disc copy, dvd player load dvd builder
do not load apps that you dont have hardware for or you will go looking for someone or something to help you
now you can reboot do not let it reboot before you are done with all or you will be starting over from the beginning just like I did
over and over and over
now there could be an easier way but this worked for me

A99, did you "upgrade" the OS, or "clean install"?
I have always had problems upgrading Microsoft products.
Much better to do a clean install, then reinstall your apps!
ummm, well, OK. That applies to ALL OSes. ;)

I upgraded from 2k
my bad
but some people dont have the ability to back up or save all the data on some machines before they do something like this
but yes a clean install is much better:D
