Doesn't come with a processor tho. $500 for a board is way outta my league...

But, there is room for TWO :D
High dollar, Server class, mobo, dat's for sure...
Where are the other choices? :swear:
We got real CPUs and paper release mobos!?

I need AGP for workstation duties, not games :p. PCI-Express should provide a much better interface than AGP soon anyway.

The nForce 3 Pro mobo's look promising. Single(!) and dual boards supporting Opteron's and also include AGP.

Did anybody see the single Opteron gaming benches at Anandtech (http://www.anandtech.com/cpu/showdoc.html?i=1818)? The 1.8GHz Opteron handed the P4 3GHz it's ass .

I can see myself with an 8 way Opteron system running 8 different kinds of DC projects.

Unfortunately cost is a terrible concern of mine

So Ironbits, did you rattle your piggybank enough to get some Opterons? I'm considering to assemble a dual Opteron workstation, but it sure would be nice not being the first one ;)

Not yet, but that nforce3 chipset has my heart beating faster :)
Waiting for the prices to drop some, and the OS and programs able to take advantage of it.
No sense in having a HEMI if I can't get the fuel to run it. ;)
The DC clients need to be able to take advantage of it, or it's just not worth it to me.
I have an XP2600 and an ATI RADEON 9700 Pro with DDR3200 - I'm not having any problems gaming :D

That, of course, makes much sense, but the thing is I'm getting a couple of 244s really cheap (long and boring story) so I'm really tempted to build a workstation around them rather than selling them for profit.

I'll keep you posted, should decide next week.
