View Full Version : Rollin on OGR - 25...

PY 222

Since our Rollin Rollin Rollin... thread was getting a little large, I have taken the liberty of starting this thread!

So Team, as of right now, we are at position 368, up 5 spots from yesterday.

I, however did not manage to upload any stubs from my machines. Weird, but it does happen I guess.

Roll on :smoking:

Beyond
04-28-2003, 03:09 PM
 It became painfully obvious that OGR-25's were back when I noticed my main workstation on a workunit at 320 Gnodes and climbing :scared:

PY 222
04-28-2003, 08:44 PM
Beyond, welcome back to OGR-25!

We are currently at position 364, up 4 places since yesterday.

On a more personal note, I have just passed ECL to take third place. We will see if I can hold on to it.

Roll on...

Angus

Those OGR-25 stubs take a long time! Is there any way to tell how long a particular one will go?

I guess I'll have to work through the the pile of 25s I got, to get to the 24s from Beyond's proxy.

I don't suppose someone has made a nice little buff_in.ogr editor to keep the one you want and bit-bucket the rest? (that would be cheating and unfair, I know.) :D

magnav0x
04-28-2003, 09:14 PM
Angus there realy is no way to tell, but you get the stats are worked out accordingly, so if you get one that takes 6 hours to do, you'll still get 6 hours worth of nodes done as apposed to having 6 1 hour stubs. I haven't a clue how many OGR-24 stubs are left but I'm sure they'll be dry by the end of the week. Then all will be on OGR-25 again steamrolling.

PY 222
04-30-2003, 02:21 AM
And again, after rising 4 places, Free-DC OGR - 25 is currently at position #360.

Our production rate is ranked 47 overall since yesterday. ECL has just taken back third place from me and I am pissed :bang:

Well, not really, but I must go borg some more machines to get back my third placing.

So everybody gets cranking...

So back to updating the OGR - 25 scoreboard.

Its getting harder and harder to climb as we get higher and higher. Damn it :bang:

Damn it Chinasaur, you beat me to the punch!

Yeah... we are moving slowly but surely up the ranks. I just wish that we could get a huge farmer to pull us up more quickly.

Then again, this project has been going on since... forever, I guess I could wait another... forever!

Wake me up when we get to Top 100 :sleepy:

As for big producers..I like it better without one. My contribution means less when it's overshadowed by somebody with a huge farm. We move up fast but what I produce means less statistically.

It's better when we all pitch in...whatever we get..we earned..we weren't just along for the ride :)

No- but I did look into the possibility of " borrowing" the computers in our campus Building Automation System (currently about 55+ boxes) -- unfortunately, they are using some sort of embedded Java system, and don't have enough of an OS for me to hook into.....

does that count??

Try an official keyserver for fetching instead of the proxy. Last time I fetched from an official keyserver a few days ago I got a bunch of 24 mark stubs.

Beyond

It looks like stibnite/DP still have 6k+ OGR-25's on the proxy, which will tke sometime to finish off. At current rate 10-12 more days. So if anyone is interested in OGR-24's you will need to change your clients to point to the main keyserver or my proxy which flushes to stibnite/dp's proxy so you will continue to show up in the team proxy stats. PM me for the details/address.

the-mk, if you look at the stats, I have yet to get a single OGR-25 stub to crunch as I have been getting only OGR-24 stubs for the past few days. I connect to the main keyservers at d.net and get whatever they give me.

Sorry folks, its been a while since I posted in this thread but here it is, another ranking update for Team Free-DC OGR-25.

We are up 5 places since yesterday to position 203. WOW. Production was a great 66,290 GNodes.

Its quite alright if you wish to crunch RC5-72. Either way, you are crunching for the Team also.

But if you wish to crunch only OGR, you will need to configure it as such:

[parameters]
id=************ <-- Your email address here!

[misc]
project-priority=OGR,RC5-72=0 <--- This will kill off RC5

progress-indicator=auto-sense

[ogr]
fetch-workunit-threshold=6 <-- Ths is the buffer rate

And we are back again for another update from the world of OGR-25.

Team Free-DC is currently ranked 194, up 2 positions from yesterday with 52,137 GNodes produced.

We are nearing our goal of Top 100 for OGR-25 people. So come on and continue on crunching.

With the DF Phase II in full action, our activity in this project has dwindled significantly. But never fear, we are still able to climb.

As of yesterday, we have managed to climb one position to settle at 189 in team rankings.

Our production has slowed down to 12,649 GNodes because I think most of us are folding some proteins.

So guys, I have kept one machine in this project just to help maintain it a little and I hope that you guys can throw in some GHz from time to time ok!

Roll on!

the-mk
06-19-2003, 04:09 PM
At the moment I've got 2 machines left on OGR, a T-Bird 1.2 GHz and a Duron 750 MHz :( and I'm thinking of borging one of those to DF :(
 so there is still one machine crunching for OGR
:scared: BUT the folding-fever has infected my computers! :swear:

Sorry folks

the-mk
06-21-2003, 02:21 PM
OK, I've only one box left on OGR :spank: It's the poorest machine I have, a AMD Duron 750  for a little less contribution :dump:

Stats today:

OGR-25
overall rank: 189 (no movement since a few days)
yesterdays production: #144 (+24), 5,968 gnodes
top-contributer:
rus6, /me, IB, Chinasaur, Hydra, PY and cygnussphere
that will take some time to pass the 4,000,000 gnodes-mark!

OGR-24
overall rank: 20 with no movement
yesterday production: #7 (-3) 3,860 gnodes
top-contributer:
Condor, Nitrousine, PY, Beyond, alpha
a long way to go to overtake the next one on the list
__________

The most of us moved to DF phase II...

Our goal of #20 on OGR-24 is reached, but not the top-100 on OGR-25

the-mk
06-29-2003, 05:13 AM
We didn't move from #189 since a couple of days! But we are producing a little bit :D

We have a overallproduction of 4,018,329 GNodes and with yesterdays production we were on #147 with 5,687 GNodes

In the next few days there will be no upward moving in ranks... I think there will be more a downward falling :( The DNet Brute Squad is :dump: dumping a lot and the next few days we will get rank 190

And I still have one poor machine on OGR-25

06-29-2003, 12:42 PM
The memory issues with DF will force me to pull machines off of DF during the week, so OGR will be on the top of my list during the week and DF on weekends when I can better moniter the clients. However there is a ton of OGR-24 stubs still on my proxy that will soon ripen with age if not finished soon. So I will be trying to finish them off if possible.
