Been a member since Friday evening and still not ranked. Emailed tech support but so far no answer. Not sure what's going on. Any ideas?

Sorry Moogie. No idea how to help you :( , but could not miss the oppertunity to say

I love this project - It ignores what females are saying, even when they are typing it. :D

/me goes in to hiding, rather than face the wrath of the female members of the forum.:harhar:

Hi Moogie,

Perhaps you got "unranked" because you sent in TOO MANY KEYSTROKES in TO LITTLE TIME. If your keyrate gets higher than 4 (keys per second) for a single period, you get unranked (and AFAIK you won't get ranked again, due to "anti-cheater-rules").

Since it's unlikely you really type that fast (for a longer period of time) the most common reason to get unranked because of this is to send in buffers of 2+ different clients (computers, ...) right after each other => the server doesn't realize it's two different clients and thinks you just tried to cheat => you get banned ("unranked").

The first day I though that Moogie is being unranked because she has registred a new account and after some pulses she will get ranked. That was the problem at the beginning of the project too.

BUT NOW:

As far as I can see (from her official stats page (http://project-orca.net/?page=stats&type=users&id=6735)), Moogie didn't send too many keystrokes in too little time. And I think she isn't pulsing from two computers.

I think that the server "broke" and all new registred members won't get ranked. If I look at my (http://project-orca.net/?page=stats&type=users&id=213) stats-page, I have sometimes a higher kps (greater or equal than 0.01) in my last ten pulses. Moogie is typing more than I do (and I see that she does!) and has never more than 0 kps!

And I think that this error won't be repaired until the new client comes out. I started a thread (http://project-orca.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=244) at Project Orca, but until now no useful answer came in.

I sent a PM to Marc_1 to talk to the PO-Admin, if he would be able to do something, or just asking for the why it isn't working?

You seem to be right here; the rate should be higher than 0. Most likely that's the reason for Moogie being unranked.

Still, that doesn't completly rule out Moogie is unranked as I described above; we just see her last ten pulses that all happened during the last 24 hours. She signed up 5 days ago. Perhaps the server calculated a keyrate too high some days ago?

Anybody here who signed up recently (last week) and is being ranked?

I could do a "test"-sign-up and look what is happening...

Therefore I will use my notebook, because I don't type too much on it :D

It doesn't really matter right since they are going to restart a fresh when the new client comes out, if the new client comes out in my lifetime.

Then again MK, it would be great to check out how the algorithm for spotting cheaters are implemented in PO.

You're right; that's really bad, I don't want the stats to be reset but most others seem to think different. Forget the cheaters, I just want to know how many keys I typed. Anyway ...

Latest news were published on May 15: http://www.battleaxe.net/. They are still developing but they have other things to do, too.

Well, I do pulse from two different computers, one at work, and one at home. They are not close together, so there would be no way that I could do that one right after another. Perhaps Marc_1 will have some luck in getting some answers and getting me ranked.

Hmmmm...

OK, that happend: I registred a new account at project-orca.net and re-installed the orca-client on my notebook. I just visited some webpages and played some games last days, and pulsed...

Result: 11 pulses in 4 days, kps between every pulse was exact zero and I'm not ranked. So I guess the server broke... (If you want to see my test-account: http://project-orca.net/?page=stats&type=users&id=6767)

No message from Marc_1. Either he ignored my PM or he didn't meet StoneTable or any other administrator at Project Orca.

:|punch|: Sorry Moogie, can't help you...

No problem. I just stopped using it. Seems kind of useless as it wasn't working. I figure I'll just wait until they get it up and running again. I haven't heard anything from the tech support side either. I appreciate your efforts.

Thanks!!

If you stopped using it, I'll delete you from my stats, because it's useless if you show up with zero keys typed.

Ok...but I'll be back if they ever get it running again. :)
