i posted this in another thread but i think it deserves it's own so people get the message that it exists.
"you can checkout a new online script to view your pending blocks and manually expire out tests. this will be useful for a bunch of reasons such as when you download tests you know for one reason or another you will never complete. if nothing else, you can at least check and see what all your pending tests are from one page without going to multiple computers if you have a team of them all working on SB.
the page is under Preferences on the site. You have to be logged in. It is called "Pending Test Management". check it out and let me know what you think.
and the warnings on the page are for real... don't press "Expire" unless you really want to quit work on the test. i just wrote the script yesterday so it doesn't do anything like warn you before it expires out the test. it assumes you know what you're doing. technically, you can still finish a test even after you expire it (the server remembers you were assigned it at one point), but it will release it to the test pool and reassign it to someone else as well."

this is pretty cool. now I have some idea of what computers are doing what. and which ones haven't been responding lately, so I can go smack them around.

i've noticed a lot of people think they will use this script for watching after their computers. perhaps the results should be ordered by last response and not by ascending n value?

well, in a perfect world, we could sort it by IP, by most recent date, and first date as well as N.
<Dream>It would really cool if I could label an IP address so that I wouldn't have to try to remember what computer/subnet that IP belonged to.
oh, and we need an option to change the name of the client to "System Idle Process" so that some people wouldn't complain.
Oh, and we need an option in the service to Always Always Always keep the client out of the systray.</Dream>

Under NT/2K/XP, the last one is possible now. You can even configure it that way remotely if you have "sc" installed (I forget where to get it, but it's part of some freebie MS admin kit or other):
sc <computer name> config "Seventeen or Bust service" type= own
sc <computer name> stop "Seventeen or Bust service"
sc <computer name> start "Seventeen or Bust service"
(note: important bizarre syntax - no space between 'type' and '=' but a space between '=' and 'own')
The icon will *never* show up in the system tray because the service has been prohibited from interacting with the desktop.

This is really useful. Thanks Louie.
Might this be a good place to add a country indication to the IP address, using the same method as that used for the stats. This should at least prevent the current uncertainty of the whole country stats, and everyone will know whether their own are right or wrong.

The script is now online to view and change all your IP-to-country translations. Under the "Preferences" menu right below the new Pending Test Management script.
Let me know if you have problems using it. I updated 3 of my address that were NULL.
Thanks for the idea Mike.

Great idea.
Denmark just got a lot more credit ... nearly all the changing IP's I have used were null.
All of mine were Null, so Denmark just got some more, now we just have to wait untill Firebirth and hc_grove does the same, then we will be on the move.
Great work :D
Now all we need is the option to submit blocks from the queue in the client, and all will be perfect. ;)

Done.
Denmark is second (third if you count "Routed though SB proxy") at the moment!

Maybe you should put this on the news page, so people that do not read the forum will notice.

I would suggest mentioning that if you are in the United Kingdom you should use uk (not on ISO list) rather than gb (which is what shows on the ISO list).
If you use gb it doesn't get added to the uk figures.
