explanation -
The Recent Posts plugin on the front page is updated periodically.
Sometimes you post and it is there immediately and sometimes it takes a few minutes.
Also there are a lot of RSS posts coming in.
The length of the list is limited.
So your post can roll off the bottom of the Recent Posts list quite quickly also.
