Auto-updating

Is the auto-updating mentioned going to work for both the phase 1 and beta clients, or will I have to change my beta clients manually?

If you are running the Beta, you need to switch back to the normal client where it might autoupdate.
Else if you stay on the Beta, you will have to manually update.
I would recommend a fresh new clean install for the long haul ;)
