ok
I have a tyan s2460 duallie, and I was messing around with it and put a couple of 1.4 tbirds in it
it ran great, loaded xp pro and it still ran great
loaded the newest bios and it seemed to run ok although it gave me a warning at the boot about non mp processors
then it started slowing down on production in df
I checked the clients and they seemed ok, but when I looked at task manager under processes it was lopsided to one client
I tried to set affinity and thats when I discovered if you dont use mp processors and you load the ver. 105 bios you dont have a duallie any more
it loads two recognizes two but doesnt use two
I tested this theory with corel draw, when you render in corel it would split the duty between processors with the old bios but did not split duty with new bios
so if you have a tyan with non mps in it use old bios ver. 103
Im sure you all probably knew this but I just figured it out
