Howard,

I'd really like to be able to run this on an AIX box. I suspect that the Linux version would probably compile unchanged with gcc and run.

Now I hear that about year ago this subject was shot down - understandably you want to control the source code. But there are (is) such a thing as an NDA, and there are those of us who would be bound by it. Care to talk about a possible AIX port offline from the forum?

The problem is not so much signing away code with an NDA as the fact that we still build new versions more or less weekly. Depending on external people to build version when and where we need them just isn't realistic. All our code is automagically compiled once a week on our build farm and its too much work to start adding machines outside our build farm. Again though I'll throw out the offer that if anyone would like to donate an AIX box (regardless of how old and crappy, as long as the C compiler on it works, we're good) we'd be happy to add an AIX port (or any other UNIX port), and we can issue a charitable tax receipt if you live in Canada I believe.

Since most of the 50 or 60 AIX boxes in use where I work cost in the general vicinity of $400,000.00 US, it's not very likely that I'll be able to tear one loose for you..... :(
