Howard - Stardragon: Stats Problem

Howard (or Stardragon ;) ), there appears to be a problem with the combined stats file that's being provided for third party stats.

Since about 18:00 EST, it's contained only two files in the 'teampages' directory: team0.txt and team3.txt (which is actually just an empty file).

This is the 'teampages.tar.gz' file...

EDIT: Just noticed that the problem is affecting the stats on the DF site, too. The team pages haven't been updated since 18:02.

My sincere apologies, I have been working on improving the stats to display Phase I results, but the new version appears to be somewhat flawed.

I am currently rerunning the original code, so your stats will be returned to you shortly.

No problem at all. You'd be surprised how many times I've broken the Arachnid engine (http://stats.zerothelement.com) when adding new features or experimenting! :fireboun:

In fact, I broke it last night while working on mobile phone access (http://www.free-dc.org/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=3543) for it, but fortunately, nobody noticed because the regular stats were down anyway. :D

Elena, just out of curiosity, how are you going to handle the Phase 1 stats? I've still got my Phase 1 database & I've been tinkering with several ideas for displaying them alongside the Phase 2 stats.

Have you guys reached a decision on how you're going to show them?

Dyyryath - the straightforward approach I'm taking right now is to give a link from the personal/team page to another page with Phase I results.

I'm also toying with the idea of adding a checkbox and a cookie, so users may choose to display their personal stats as Phase I & Phase II combined on the same page. The default will remain Phase II only.

If you have come up with any good ideas for your stats that I could use as well, feel free to send them my way :jester:

I've been tinkering with the idea of offering a 'Combined Phase' version of each page on my site that would rank users/teams by their total production (Phase 1 & 2), in addition to the regular 'Phase 2 Only' stats I'm displaying now.

I'm not sure yet whether I like the idea. I'll let you know as I finish the prototype for it. ;)

I am going to offer a 'Phase 1 Only' version, which will be cross-linked with the current stats (this sounds like the same thing that you're doing).

It sounds like we're pretty much on the same sheet of music. :thumbs:
