-We will be releasing a new version of the software AND a new protein on Wednesday, August 13, 2003 at 11:00 AM EST. This software update should fix a large portion of the existing bugs.

========

No Beta mentioned :( Here's hoping ....

If this one hits like the previous one, I'm jumping to ECC2 for a while. I can't handle these bad clients any more.

Hopefully lessons have been learned and it will be a smooth change over (everything crossed).

Yeah, keep talking Digital...just keep talking. I'll have the boys smack you around some and lock you down in the Free-DC basement. You'll be writing dfGUI for no one but us and living on leftovers from IB's fridge! :whip: :bonk: :fireboun: :weggy:

There may be a Windows test client out..but no Linux client out for test. Windows may be the predominant platform, but it's not the ONLY platform.

Santayana was right....

Probably because the Linux client hasn't had many problems ??

Compared to the Windows client, the Linux client hasn't had many problems. Remember the entire multiple-changeover fiasco? The linux clients just kept on trucking, while the Windoze guys (including me) were down for - seems like - days...

I think the Linux clients were the only ones generating us any stats there for some time....

I'm well aware of that. It has bugs regardless.

Each of my machines craps out during the week for some reason or another. That's a 100% failure rate every week.

What happens when they "crap out"?

Stop running and/or corrupted filelist.txt

Mandrake 8.1, Knoppix on the dual and OS X.

Hmm... no idea, sorry. But, I've never had it happen to me... (small comfort, I know...).
