I don't know how many of you guys were big in the BBS days, but LoRD was one of my favorite RPG's at the time. The game has been redone in PHP, but of course is a little different, because Gameport owns the rights to the original LoRD (Legend of the Red Dragon). For those of you who would be interested in playing around with it, I've set it up on my webserver @ http://lord.ezracing.net

Hehe, can't let you guys play alone :)

What happens if you get slain? Do you have to start from the beginning again? (I wrote "you" instead of "I" intentionally :D )

Pretty much you loose your turns for the day. You can however get resurrected if you torment enought souls.

I used to play for obsessively.. we used to have inter BBS tornaments too...

Seth Able was a personal role model for me when I was younger ...(Guy that wrote LORD, LORD2)

Congratulations magnav0x! You were just faster than me ... But don't forget the other players, I was not the only one trying to slay the dragon first ...

I'm thinking I'll reset the game after a certain amount of dragon kills is reached. That way everyone (particularly the people that just started playing) have a equal chance of being on the top. What do you guys think?

I clicked the link and got this:
SELECT * FROM referers WHERE uri='http://free-dc.org/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=3857'

Table 'ezracing_lord.referers' doesn't exist

This is in Firebird 0.7 - anyone else got that? Just tried plain Mozilla instead - works fine there apparently...quite wierd :confused:

I'll look into it guys. Apparently two of the tables were corrupted on the old server. I'll try to salvage it so you don't have to start from scratch Mr Duke :D

A99, I think I'm going to have to start from scratch if you want to start playing again. Those two tables were completely corrupt :confused: If you want to play that bad I'll start it again from scracth. Let me know.

Just a question: why do you call it LoRD? And why is the linkage lord.ezracing.net?

The game is called the Legend of Green Dragon, isn't it?

sorry :D I'm use to referring it to LoRD, because the original game back in the bbs days was:

Legend of the Red Dragon

But yes it should be referred to LoGD :thumbs:

BTW, scoofy, you when you log back in (even if you were interrupted by server) you are restored back to where you left off next time you log back in, whether you were in a middle of a fight or not.

ARG! What is it about this thing and moving between sql servers. Well I'm about to head off to work, but I will look at it in the morning. The accounts table it still accessible (but quite a few system fital tables are not) so I should be able to preserve all of your account :thumbs:

Hey A99 sorry I completely forgot until you said something. I got it back up and running. I had to create a new database, the old one was so corrupt i couldn't even delete it. But I was able to get the importate information out of it before doing so, so you don't have to start over :D

No problem, let me know if it gives you any problems during game play. I'm still unsure I was able to get enough data salvaged for game play to be 100%.
