You picked up my fifth Yoyo badge (thank you), but I'm now missing three badges from Primegrid and one from WCG.
See Badge Bar below.

Bok

yeah, I've been building up a table in the db with each badge available to store it's characteristics like height and width etc and I join to that table for the banner. Some are still missing in that table, I'll have them in today.

Bok - you are a man of your word. Thank you.
I noticed a badge in your banner that looks like a summation sign in the area of the Yoyo badges.
Is that a completed Yoyo project?

Bok

That was the Euler (6,2,5) one. Have a look at their homepage (http://www.rechenkraft.net/yoyo/)

They also had a very shortlived project called EvoRobots (http://stats.free-dc.org/stats.php?page=userwork&proj=yoy&subproj=evorobots). Not many people got work on it and there was never any badges, but I ended up 3rd on that one :)

Adding them is easy, taking them away is not and that's the problem in that they are transient. I understand that they are like this to encourage people to stay on a project in order to keep the badge, just gives me a bad taste to give something then take it away again.

But I have coded it (mostly). They will likely show up at some point soon.

Bok

One of the other issues with this is that these are generic badges from BOINC. Aren't they identical at both Seti@Home and Seti@HomeBeta (as well as at NFS). Perhaps I should parse them but only place them on the individual user pages, not on the banner, otherwise how would people know where it came from?

Sorry to be a pest, but I've notices other provider's badge signatures are able to display individual's GPUGRID published science paper contribution badges. At least for me, these are the most valuable, because rather than just crunching/searching contribution, these badges represent actual scientific results. Not sure how the other sites get access to these badges, but would you please consider adding them? I use free-DC as part of my signature to advertise your site, and to advertise the projects I support. Thank you in advance for your careful consideration of my request. Col. Rick A. Sponholz

Bok

I suspect they crawl the individual pages for just users who sign up. As I do that WCG and a couple of others I'll write one for GPUgrid also, take a couple of days, but I'll use your id first.

Bok
03-27-2014, 08:50 AM
I did have a cursory look at these, but I was a little confused as users seemed to have multiple versions of the same badge, so can you explain just what you would like to see? I didn't see them on some of the other signatures out there either.

I'm just too swamped with work to figure it out.

rsponholz

On GPUGRID, you get a badge (a teardrop with mickey mouse ears:) representing the percentage of each published science paper you contributed to. Different colors represent different percentages. A person would have duplicate colors if they contributed the same percentage to multiple papers. I was hoping you could show all the teardrops w/mm ears I've earned. The other signatures did not say what service generated them. An example of the badges showing is on the signature of zombie67 [MM] on poem@home's message board/news/POEM++ 2.0 Release. Hope this helps. Thanks for attempting to make this work. Regards, Rick

Hi Bok,
Sorry to keep bothering you, but I've received a special badge from Milky Way for an, "Extraordinary Contribution". It's a cool badge. Is there a way for you to add it to my Free-DC badge signature? Also, what happened to the Mega Milestone badge that used to be in my collection? not sure where it was from (Free-DC?), but it was cool too. Once again, thanks in advance, Rick

When they aren't exported from a project I have to write a screen scraper, please send me a link to it and I can take a look.

Can you also provide a link to your stats page so I can get your CPID to check out the MM badge (yes I create those)

ugh, this has been because of another recent fix where a users CPID changed and they got multiple images. I created a new unique index using the users id as part of the key, but of course for the MM badges it's not related to an individual project so doesn;t have an id so I use 0 - all inserts after the first one then fail for the MM badges as they duplicate the index.

Bottom line is I'm going to have to figure out some unique # for the user for these.

Hello Bok,

on NFS I received yesterday the golden overall badge. This seems not to be included in the badge milesone list on the user project stats pages. Is this by intend that there should only the subproject badges included? Do we need to identify the overall badges from the recent milesone list?

The golden badge as such is displayed corretly, so the question is more for curiosity than real importance.

Bok
05-13-2014, 07:27 AM
Correct, the code is only in place to track the subproject data. And so can only identify the badges associated with that data right now. Was written at the time when Primegrid was the only one giving out badges and they were subproject only.

I could enhance it to handle credit milestones as well I think.

Hi Bok,

I couldn't readily locate where I had asked before so this seemed like a good place to rehash an old request but with a different spin.

I was wondering originally if there was a way you could show what projects the badges were coming from. However, given that you combine them all into a single image, I had a different thought:

How about a legend on Free-DC site (CPID page) that you could click on so that you'd have your badges image on top and a key to the projects below either alphabetically or in the same series order (I don't know how you setup the order off-hand).

Ideally you'd just show the ones a user already has, but if you wanted to keep it simpler, just list a legend for all the projects on their list.

The reason for this is some of us don't memorize what each badge is from (we only RUN droids, we aren't droids) and there's no easy way to figure it out short of delving into each project's site.

Thank you.

New possible hint on badges appearing and disappearing. Bitcoin - a while back I had seven badges, the "total project" badge (crossed hammers) and six subproject badges. Then the total project badge vanished, leaving me with six in two nice columns of three. I noted it but didn't mention. Last night I picked up a seventh subproject badge (Cancer 'Heart'). This morning I have eight badges as I should expect, the total project badge has reappeared. (Two columns of 3, one column with 2.) Code bug somewhere?

stats.free-dc does not have Monkeys badges.

That's not quite true. FreeDC does have monkey badges, but the ones in your signature are not in sync with the ones on your subproject page.
Neither gets updated at the moment, though.
For some reason Sebastien -from the competing signature supplier- seems to have gotten hold of the right badge information, but he does not show GoofyxGid subprojects at his "next badge" page, so we can't be sure Goofyx has solved all his problems. There seems to be hope here however.

It looks like the badges that are missing are just due to the fact you don't display all badges. The only real issue appears to be with my GoofyxGrid badges, which are way behind my actual badges at that project.

Here are my badges as displayed at F-DC:

Maybe I missed it since it's not on stats3? I still prefer that layout due to the team graphs displaying better, team graph legend not blocking the last days data, Metrics Today work, etc.

This isn't badge related but the climateprediction (CPDN) stats went back to a very old saved version. Everyone had negative stats last week. Typically they run stats once a week. SRBase changed their GPU 72 badge (and App) to TF so as to avoid litigation but you are still showing the GPU 72 and so the TF badge is missing :D

Also missing are some of the QuChemPedIA badges, I'm looking on the Badges (Test) page, it shows I, and others, have the right number of badges but you are giving us badges up to 1 Billion when we haven't got there yet :notworthy
I did ask the admin there if they could re-order the badges in their data table so that they appeared in numerical order correctly on the project web site so that might be why they appear wrong here ?

In our signatures and on the pages 'Usersubprojects Stats' and 'Badges Stats' the badges for NFS@Home 15e_small and NFS@Home 16e_small are lacking at the moment.

All is looking the way it should, thanks Bok!

One of the two production servers still hands out NFS badges as if it were Christmas. Stats6 has some weird discrepancies with production, some WCG badges are off -for me.
e.g. African Rainfall Project is silver instead of gold and OpenPandemics - COVID-19 is sapphire instead of diamond 5 years.

Dirk Broer
11-08-2020, 06:26 PM
Comparing stats and stats6, I discover two of my WCG badges on stats6 are off -Open Pandemics-COVID-19 shows as sapphire badge while it should be a 5 year diamond and Africa Rainfall Project shows a silver badge while it should be ruby. Both are showing right in the production environment.

The badge shown at both stats and stats6 on 'Subproject credits/Usersubprojects Stats' is not the badge shown in my signature and 'Badges (test)/Badges stats'. The latter is the right one, that shows your credit level.

At both stats and stats6 the view 'Badges (test)/Badges stats' three kind of badges are shown: Total credit level badges, sub-project badges and RAC badges.
As the last category mostly shows the exact same badges for each project having them and are just temporary they might as well be left out, according to me.
For the other two categories the same amount of credit is displayed for all badges belonging to one project. This is strange, because there are columns 'next badge' and 'credit needed' which are meaningless when you give the same credit for each entry, while the correct level is available at FreeDC and shown at 'Subproject credits/Usersubprojects Stats'.
The 'credit needed' column has green 'v' images on stats6 and missing images on stat where a numeric value should be [Two values showing right though on stats6: Rakesearch total credit and MM badge]. 'Next badge' should have those images, but has no entries of any kind.
