This the "backend server" error mentioned in News or something else? Came home to find OS X dead. Assuming from errors it didn't update.

Now when I try to start it I eigther get lots of network acty and the client dies back to command line or I get this error message and it runs fine.

I just checked the file on the server and it is the right size.
I have no idea what is going on with the os X updates.

While you were downloadng the server crashed. therefore the download has been canceled what causes the file size error, because the client didn´t got the whole file download

Ok. It obviously didn't get the update so I'll download and reset.

Thanks guys.

You dont have to reset i think ... the download is cancelled and the download will restart if you start the client again ... (you dont have to clear the buffer or something like that)

keller,

It didn't. I stopped and restarted numerous times.

It was well and truly horked :)

Alls well now.

I have 4 OSX machines folding and all of them failed the autoupdate with a missing checksum error. I just downloaded the new client and installed them manually.

The OS X bug is fixed but you need to download this weeks posted version to get the fix. The auto-update did not update the binary this time since nothing (other than this) changed.
