View Full Version : Inconsistency between Trigggls, Boks and MegaBoks

I am curious. It seems that Trigggls, Boks and MegaBoks are three of a kind, yet there is an inconsistency - perhaps two with them.
Trigggls are obviously achieved for getting between 10000 and 10100 cobblestones in a project, Boks for 100,000 and 101,000 and MegaBoks for between 1,000,000 and 1,000,100.
It seems to me that they ought to either all have the same actual margin, or all have the same margin percentage. As it stands Boks are way, way easier to get than TeraBoks.
I think the margin should all be either 100 or 1000 for all three MegaMilestopnes, or the margin for TeraBoks should be 10,000 i.e. the same as for the others.
Frankly I am not bothered which way it went, but it seems wrong as it is. Sorry I am being picky here, maybe I'll go and checked out for OCD :door:
I notice looking round the forum that x3mEn raised this same point last year sometime but didn't get an answer - so at least I know I am not alone here!:hifi:

I think you are right, changed to all have a margin of 1000.

Win some and loose some.
I have been trying hard to get trigggl scores under the "100" limit. And I though I was doing quite well. Now I don't need to work so hard. The revised margin added two overshoots.....but it also dropped me a bunch in the rankings.

Thanks Bok - as ever supremely fast responses to suggestions. I think you went the right way too, it would have been a bit rough on people to tighten them all to 100 - not least your good self! - and 10,000 for a TeraBok would have made it too easy. Good call.
I have some sympathy with you Werinbert, I just gained a few Trigggls, due to past failures coming to life, thought I might get a Maxwell for them but the top score seems to have shot up slightly more than I did lol. And I came very close to losing a Maxwell for TeraBoks. Swings and roundabouts, but all good! :-)

I think I'm going to change Trigggls back to 10000 - 10100 though. Was thinking about it overnight and now had two people bring it up.

I've actually given up a lot of my 'Bok's in order to get hours for projects to get my WuProp stars :(

Yes I do think that is the one downside of the these particular MegaMilestones in that they can actually tempt you to stop doing projects you want to do.

If you are going to put it back then perhaps for consistency you ought to set the margin on TeraBoks to 1% also. They are quite hard to get to as these tend to be projects that you can pile on the Cobblestones relatively quickly and it is therefore harder to put on the brakes in time. I am not really bothered either way as long as I know it isn't a mistake and has been a considered decision.

Done, 1% on each is now the margin.

Trigggls : 10000 - 10100
Boks : 100000 - 101000
Teraboks : 1000000 - 1010000

LOL That will teach me! Just lost the 7 Trigggls I gained earlier, got an additional TeraBok but sadly many others gained more than me of them so I lost my only Maxwell as a result!
Swings and roundabouts indeed!

Next time I spot an inconsistency just shoot me! :stomp: ;-)

This is what makes trigggls, boks, and teraboks so fun. One has to make decisions on which projects to hold at the cutoffs and which projects to turn up the throttle.

Bok guys,

Is there any place on free-dc with summary of all MegaMilestones and requirements for reaching each of them?

Thanks,

b.

I've always kind of kept it a guessing game, but here you go :)

These are the main ones, name, >credit required, #needed to reach.

This just begs the question: :confused:

Given Triggls, Boks and TeraBoks ...
what do you call #projects between 10,000,000 and 10,100,000? {if you follow the logic from Bok to TerraBok, this should be a YottaBok, a jump of 12 more magnitudes :happyk9:}
between 100,000,000 and 101,000,000? {I ask that and don't have a single project even approaching those numbers!} .. {Dodos? who would get there and stop?}
etc.

and what do you call the total of all together? {#projects that fit any of the definitions}?

I checked the numbers and was actually surprised at how many of these there actually were.

for 10,000,000-10,100,000 there are 279, with top user having 4, for the 100,000,000 there are still 75. Once you go up to 1B there are only 2 instances so we don't have to add that one yet.

If you wish to give official names to these, let me know here and I'll add them <- as you can see I name them after users who ask for the particular MM :)

Well ... this has proven more time consuming than I had thought. It appears that "yotta" (10 to the 24th) is the highest prefix recognized by the International Standard of Units .. which kinda puts an end to any progression.

Therefore, moving on:
10,000,000 - 10,100,000 - "Gibson" {yah, ok, glory hog}
100,000,000 - 101,000,000 - "Bozo" {and before anyone goes nutso, he is a teammate and a friend ... and it still sorta fits :crazy:}

the total of all together (all MM qualifying events) - this seems a unique idea rather than a logic extension so I still advocate it at some point. I'd name it after a pioneer of DC. I'd vote David Anderson, but others are certainly viable.
-edit-
{actually, this was the one I wanted named 'Gibson" .. but I'm nobody in the long term. I decline. This should go to to someone who helped start the whole idea. Just my 2p}

Added those two categories.

I'm not yet sold on the overall one, need to think about it a bit more. There is already a badge for overall # of MM's anyway.

You are correct. The same idea is served. I like the badge better!

vaios are #projects where createdaterank < 10 (need > 5)

69 projects, 58 vaios ...
I have only four projects that have createdaterank 10 or higher, which would result in: 69 - 4 = 65 not 58.

vaios using a createdaterank < 5 does add up (at least on my stats page). I have 11 projects that have rank 5 or more: 69 - 11 = 58.

It is < 5, my mistake.
