here is what i am trying
i saved the whole \program files\sb folder to my thumb drive, then in the registry, i exported the entire \HKLM\Software\LhDn\sob key to a .reg file and saved that in the same folder on my thumb drive
we'll see in a couple hours if this works, there are some threads on the "fficial" forum that it does, wish me luck, one of them only had about 15 blocks left!!

yes
i did a normal install
then overcopied by old directory, then ran the .reg key
and fired it up
a-ok
now if i could just figure out RRAS (well, just the R part anyway) on w2k3 connecting different subnets :bonk:
i gave up and connected a wireless modem to the server :dunno:

I just put my XP box on it :) SB17 v1.1.0 right?
This boxen doesn't like the Climate Prediction client and locked up
It just locked up on Folding@Home3...
Does fine with DF and DNET clients and everything else I want to run.
Running it at 179 fsb = 2250GHz which could be the cause...
I know the SATA Raid with twin Raptor 10,000 rpm drives doesn't like it when it locks up.
It's rebuilding the mirror again ...
Looks like you have overclocked too far.
yes the client is v1.1.0
I think you will have to reduce the overclock this client is highly optimized and uses SSE2. I have found SSE2 to be the overclocked Athlons achillies heel.

XP2600 using 12.5x multiplier and DDR3200
At 179 fsb ~300,000 cEMs/sec
At 176 fsb ~287,000 cEMs/sec
Oh, and when are you going to put some real hounds on that OGR rabbit? ;)

Paste it into your favorite graphics program, file save as...
SHIFT-PrintScreen does the whole desktop...
That capture program makes large files, and only .BMP :(
/me hugs Thumbs+ :D
And... what are you running them BEASTS on to get that kind of output????
Details!!!! :D

I just use ALT-Printscreen to copy the current window to the clipboard, then paste it where I want it. In this case, to a paint program so I can save it compressed as a .jpg file... and CTL-Printscreen captures the entire screen to the clipboard....
Doh - IB strikes again. I'm going to have to start typing faster.

What motherboard/HSF/RAM ????
Intel Pentium 4 / 3.0CGHz 512k socket 478 Hyper Threading Technology 800 MHz FSB - OEM
Specifications:
CPU: 3.0GHz
Type: Pentium 4 Northwood
Cache: 512K
BUS: 800 Mhz
Socket: 478
P4's really shine when you run properly optimized code.
I wish Howard would optimize the DF code a bit
rdram or dual channel DDR is required to see the sort of figures that rsbriggs and myself have demonstrated.
Is it ok to leave Transmit intermediate blocks ticked.
I like to see the constant updates but am wondering if it slows down the overall output a bit ?

What motherboard/HSF/RAM should I get ?
Or is there a better price/performance solution for Intel product?

The 3.2 Ghz P4 processor is around $700, the 3.0 is a little cheaper. The curious thing is, I bought my 3.2 Ghz HT system from Dell, on one of their "good deal days", complete for $548. Case, 80Gb HD, 256 Mb RAM, Intel 875 based MoBo. I think the motherboard has RAID and SATA on board, but I just went with the 80 GB IDE - it was a free upgrade from the normal 40 GB IDE drive...
This site watches the current days bargains at lots of places:
http://www.gotapex.com/deals.php
There was some deal they had up from Dell with 2.4 Ghz processor and 17" Flat panel on Friday - didn't pay much attention. Just watch that site for a week or two and something too good to pass up will come along. I had to quit surfing to it in the mornings, it was getting too expensive, especially towards the end of the month when Dell does their real bargains - trying to make their monthly sales numbers, I guess....

You need one of these asus (http://www.asus.com/products/mb/socket478/p4c800-d/overview.htm)
I would recommend you get a retail P4 rather than OEM as it will come with a decent heatsink as standard.
Warning the fan is variable speed and can get very noisy at 8000 rpm !
You will need 2 sticks of decent quality ddr 400.

$180 for the mobo ...
$383 for the 3 GHz proc :scared:
But it does look schweet...
Go figure... I stopped the SOB :) 17 and now it's hitting 303,000+ cEMs/sec

Instead of the Intel road, I could just wait for the Opteron/AMD64 et al. ;)
Let me see... 940 pins or 939 pins or 740 pins
Or one of these (http://www.asus.com/products/server/srv-mb/pc-dl/overview.htm)

Stop it! Fantastic mobo from Asus again!
I just checked dabs.com a UK online retailer and those boards are in stock.
The XEON CPU's are a bit pricey though.
I have this really strong must have feeling at the moment.
