View Full Version : Can we do our own stats?

Carl from Climateprediction.net has provided raw data files for users and groups.

Stats Here ! (http://cpdn.comlab.ox.ac.uk/user/cpdnstat.zip)

If someone has the guts of a stats program that would adapt easily, I would take a stab at producing the stats. Dyyryath ?

This project is kind of growing on me. It's something different from the protein folding (never did understand the science of it) and looking for LGM, or cracking codes, or theoretical prime number hunts. Lots of folks have signed on , although the client is only Windows based at this time, and only for faster machines (unless taking a year to complete a model is your thing!).

I think they have stabilized the stats finally. They had some issues about how to count work done during the BETA phase, and what to do with work already in progress by the BETA testers when the project went live.

magnav0x -

Thanks for stepping forward for this.

Were you able to get to your own stats page and join the team? I tried to awake the blokes to the issue, but it seems like Carl is under the weather (bad pun).

It would certainly be nice to have some personal and team trends, and some metrics like model years/day at the user and team level, and daily and weekly totals.

Carl told me once how often that stats zip file is created - I'll see if I can track it down.

Well Willy1, the stats engine is pretty much ported over. I just got a couple bugs to track down and squash. It will be pretty much like my CB stats with daily, weekly information, threaths, and conquests, etc. I'm thinking I may have to keep it only updated once a day, we'll see how things go (there are over 25,000 records to sort through per stats run). After I test the load on normal updates, I'll give a definate answer to issue.

Alright Willy1 and company, I have BASIC stats engine up and running for climateprediction, that only shows free-dc members. Of course it also shows daily/weekly output. I will provide a link to you on Halloween, after it's had time to gather data and be tested.

I wanted Free-DC to be first to have them available (as usual). That and I was too lazy to do all of it right now. Actualy I ran into a few problems with server loads, so I had to restrict it to Free-DC only for now until I get the bugs worked out. Full stats will be available as soon as IronBits gives me a break :whip:

And yes you have to wait! :moon:

It looks like StatsMan is also getting into the CPDN stats game...

Look in this thread (http://www.climateprediction.net/board/viewtopic.php?t=914) on the climateprediction.net forum.

There's the answer to the times the stats zip file is generated.

Stats completed:
edit by IB: http://stats.free-dc.org/stats.php?page=proj&proj=bcpdn

It is only updated once a day. I'll probably set it to update daily at 12am CST. I'll let you guys know tonight.

P.S. Now we can see the 'inactive' members immediately :Pokes:
I think there are only 9 active now. Where is the problem? The client is very stable.
(unlike what I have been reading about the new DistFold client)

I dropped out for about a month while messing with Lifemapper-- brought 3 clients back on today
as part of a general redeployment of my boxes.
