Have you found any thing better, Ghtz per Dollar?

Ray

P.S. I'm getting ready to spend some of my computer budget.

What I proposed back then was the BIOSTAR M7VIQ with onboard/nic/video and using pxe for diskless pharming using xp2400s.
I think rsbriggs and PCZ had better solutions that would allow you to run Bartons now for about the same price now.
Maybe they could share with us once again their best bang for the $ ;)

Hear Hear! I like my VIQ's, but my next expansion project needs to be faster. What's a similar board to the VIQ, but barton capable? You know, onboard nic, atx, onboard video.

And since I've been shopping for one, part of my requirements is a driver under linux for the onboard nic. I can't seem to find any for the newer boards. Any suggestions?

I have one for the nforce2 chipset :D
Worked excellent on my Asus A7N8X VM board
NVIDIA_nforce-1.0-0261.mdk91up_2.4.21_0.13.athlon.rpm (www.dbestern.com\NVIDIA_nforce-1.0-0261.mdk91up_2.4.21_0.13.athlon.rpm) only 59KB to!
I loaded it on my fresh Mandrake 9.1 stats server, rebooted
The network showed the new NIC slick as can be :walking:
Maybe PCZ or rsbriggs can figure out how to add that rpm into the pxe server to serv it up to a node :dunno:

What is pxe? Right now I'm booting from a floppy with a 1680k formatted disk, with the seti client on there as well. Is pxe something like a network boot, or like a network file system? Newbie tutorial available?
