Guess what?

I got the Rush in Rio DVD today!

Of course, it does not match up to being there for a concert, but it is pretty good. Except they butchered the dragon leading into the second set. Turned a 5-minute prelude into 30 seocnds. Ofther than that it's great.

I like for a couple of songs, they have 3 or 4 camera views you can choose from. I like seeing Neil Pearts drum solo for 3 ways at once.

Anyone else get it yet? I KNOW some of you guys like Rush here!

Haven't got it. Might have to get it, though. ;)

I never get tired of watching Neil play the drums.

BADASS video :) HORRIBLE recording :( I'm four tunes into it (Roll the Bones) and I'm about done. I can't the noise.

However, is it that my ears are totally shot or is this one of the worst recording's I've ever heard? It sounds like mush for RUSH :( Only Geddy's bass come through clear, everything else is caught in the mix. Ale's guitar is almost inaudible most of the time. You hear it but it means nothing. The whole thing (to me) sounds compressed. We talked about this earlier... these articles talk about this phenomenon.

Anyone else who has this DVD think the sound is awful? Or is my deafness really that bad?

@chinasaur: They talk about the problems in the sound in the little booklet that comes with the DVD. They mention "horrible recording equipment" as the primary cause. I still prefere this over the bootleg I recorded at their concert in Hershey. I get way too much audience noise in that one. But, I think that the noise is too mush to block out. They had an audience of 40,000+ poeple at the concert, and that many voices makes A LOT of noise.

Now all they have to do is release another album and go on tour again. Except this time, do like phish does, and release all of their concerts as a for pay download over the internet. I'd get my concert.

Besides, I find the song "Resist" funny "I can resist anything, except temptation" That is sooo true when doing DC.

I've actually watched the DVD twice. The few things I have to say are, one, how the F*** does the audience SING along to YYZ? Its a F***ING intrumental piece! Two, I can't get to either of the Easter Eggs. Help anyone? Three, I LOVE the multi-angle shots for Neil's drum solo. I can see him playing three ways at once! Four, I think that I have to get the CD too, just to get the couple of songs that aren't on the DVD. Five, I need to get back to sleep, five hours of yardwork make me very unhappy!

"What Magicfan said!!" Hadn't read the booklet yet..

The movie farkin rocks. Neil Peart goes beyond God-like...what a rock.

By the time they get to Strangiato they demonstrate the honed musicianship of decades.
