On 7 January 2015, 1:57:29 UTC, PrimeGrid’s Mega Prime Search found the Mega Prime: 245*2^3411973+1 (http://primes.utm.edu/primes/page.php?id=119066) The prime is 1,027,109 digits long and enters Chris Caldwell's The Largest Known Primes Database (http://primes.utm.edu/primes) ranked 107th overall. The discovery was made by Rick Channing (Rick (http://www.primegrid.com/show_user.php?userid=66290)) of the United States using an Intel(R) Core(TM) i5 CPU 750 @ 2.67GHz with 4GB RAM running Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium. This computer took about 3 hour 38 minutes to complete the primality test using LLR. Rick is a member of the SETI.USA (http://www.primegrid.com/team_display.php?teamid=189) team. The prime was verified on 7 January 2015, 11:33:36 UTC, by John Christy (John Christy (http://www.primegrid.com/show_user.php?userid=143201)) of the United States using an Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E31220 @ 3.10GHz with 8GB RAM running Linux.
