If somebody from Free-DC moved, then it wasn't to Ars.... checking the data I have, there's only 9 people who've jumped ship, and all of them jumped to Free-DC...

Those 700 new crunchers are not new to ARS.

They have come mainly from other ARS projects.
This means the other ARS teams will suffer.

Actually not correct. The mainline ars cruncher is still, for the most part, running his/her own project. The big switch will come around 1st of December when the gauntlet starts.

The new users are either oldies that are coming back to ars and the project they once ran, ex ars DC'ers that come back to complete S@H, but mostly they seems to be new to DC (see http://www.setigermany.de/statistiken/TLC/pneu.htm).

The number of new accounts crunching for TLC, since the beginning of November, is 915 and rising  . That is a "world-class" DC team on its own.

Sounds like a good reason to limit teams to, say - 200 members?

:harhar: :rotfl: :lmao:

If you limited teams to 200 members they would just create 200 accounts but have
lots of people using each account.

It looks like we took a pretty considerable hit, but I can't for the life of me remember who the old #5 cruncher was. At this rate we won't even end the project in the top 150, much less in the top 100.

i just noticed on the statsman graph, about October 15 we had a + spike of ~15,000

perhaps the person that "came" at that time is the same that "left" on November 23

A stats poltergeist? If so, is there one that could come by and bump us up about a million WU? :)

Yes, he is also known as Beyond the Realm on another team. He left there as well for Picard.
