So, how many people are actually using netboot clients with no hard drive? Of those, how many are using the LTSP software? I've been tinkering with a custom kernel & directory structure (the part in /opt/ltsp/i386) based on Gentoo but it's not quite ready to go yet.

Instead, I'm currently using a modified version of the ltsp-core directory structure with Red Hat 9 libs, ssh, distributed folding, and chessbrain built in. It boots, mounts some NFS shares, launches 1 copy of DF & 4 copies of CB & then launches top on the first console. I'll probably add gcc & distcc tonight so that I can use the PXE nodes as distcc clients in addition to their regular duties crunching DF & CB.

Has anybody built anything interesting around the base directory structure? Anything they want to tar up & share with the group?
