On 9 February 2016, 02:47:35 UTC, PrimeGrid’s PPS Mega Prime Search project found the Mega Prime:275*2^3585539+1 (http://primes.utm.edu/primes/page.php?id=121092)The prime is 1,079,358 digits long and enters Chris Caldwell's The Largest Known Primes Database (http://primes.utm.edu/primes) ranked 104th overall.The discovery was made by Tyler Bredl (1998golfer (http://www.primegrid.com/show_user.php?userid=183129)) of the United States using an Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2666 v3 @ 2.90GHz with 60GB RAM, running Linux. This computer took about 3 hour 3 minutes to complete the primality test using LLR. Tyler is a member of the Aggie The Pew (http://www.primegrid.com/team_display.php?teamid=2280) team.The prime was verified on 9 February 2016, 22:55:34 UTC, by Andreas Mueller (Andreas (http://www.primegrid.com/show_user.php?userid=95319)) of Germany using an Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5620 @ 2.40GHz with 16GB RAM, running Linux.
