Big Problem

My last update in the stats seems to have been -39.67 nodes, taking me from 39th place to 84th in the team (and giving the team on the whole a - score for its last update).

Any ideas what is going on or is it just a stats glitch.

It is probably just the daily mesh of Dyyryth's stats and CB's stats. Happens occasionally, nothing to worry about.

there have been 2 more updates since then and i've still not got my points back :trash: :help:

should i start worrying yet, or is it still likely to just be a stats glitch?

You won't get your points back. You were given too many. The negative update was to make your stats accurate.

I'm not sure exactly why this happens, but it has something to do with synchronizing stats.

that cant be right, cos i've been using the client since 19th november, for at least 12 hours a day (and often 24), and climbing steadily up the team stats.

You can't be telling me that all my points score is wrong, and for all this effort I should have only earned a total nodes score of 0.13 (which is what it's at at the moment)

what do the official stats have you listed at? i think they only update once a day, so you might need to wait until tomorrow, then check the official stats and see where you are

if its still wrong, contact the CB dude on the official forum and ask that your account is checked

well i seem to have been re-instated with 39.49 nodes which is 0.18 less than was taken away from me, but i'm willing to let it slide :D

Just darn thankful I got them back :)

ok, this is not funny any more :( its done it again yesterday.

On he main stats page here (http://www.chessbrain.net/stats-top-individuals.html) (updated today) i'm

position 308 with 42.216966 nodes



on these (http://) i'm

position 299 with 42.22 nodes

on Dyyryath's (http://stats.zerothelement.com/cgi-bin/chessbrain/render-user-detailed.pl?Id=ff59a845) it says i'm in position 77(of the team, not out of everyone), but when I go to the team page i'm not listed in it.

Oh and yesterday I had another huge minus 40 something update :(


So I think the problem is with Dyyryath's stats. Any ideas???

Hi,

Dyyryath stats update once an hour. The official stats updates only once a day.

I just guess the points you get at dyyrayth's stats over the day are approximated by what you've done recently (in average). So, if you've done "24" points yesterday, dyyryath's stats assume you do "1" point every hour today. If you really do "0.5" points every hour, you still get 1 point in dyyryath's stats. At the end of the day, when both stats get sychronized, dyyryath's code recognizes you've done less, and corrects the value (by substracting 12 points).

That's pure theory. Dyyryath will tell us if that is how he handles things ...

stats variations/hic-ups are "normal" to chessbrain :dunno:

I'm pretty sure that Dyy's near real time stats are pulled from a differant source (provided by CJ) than the daylies.
There have been problems with these files on a couple of occasions. When the stats provided to Dyy are accurate his stats are ect..
The diffinative stats are the official ones though and if a problem is showing up there you would have to take that up with CJ.
