Might I suggest that the non-interactive configuration be the default install.

Also, at each upload checking for a value one or zero of some variable to trigger that auto-update. It sounds like the client must be restarted to up-date in a lot of cases.

I myself have 8 computers at home with a permenent internet connection. Most people running these type projects(DF, G@H, and F@H2) have permenent internet connections at home and/or work.

I didn't get around to downloading and installing the win98/me update patch so none of mine did.

All updated and running fine now

Don't know if you saw Howard's post in the other thread, but they didn't make it that way because they don't want to be like spyware companies, downloading data to your computer without your explicit permission.

I also don't know if you know this or not, but you can create a file called "autoupdate.cfg" in your distfold directory with just a 1 in it (create w/ Notepad or whatever), and it will update itself without asking.
