Stage 2 is over Free-DC wins !!

After much debate regarding stats… and our different project stages… the following has been decided:

1. Stage two is over! The winners are posted on the current stats pages for stage 2. http://www.chessbrain.net/nos.php
2. Stage three has started!
3. We’re already tracking stage 3 stats for 3.x clients!!! The stats will be reset on Monday January 24th 2004
4. Every machine running a 2.x client *must* now run a 3.x client, available on the main site: http://www.chessbrain.net/downloads.html only stage 3 clients will be included in our stage three stats!
5. Our new stats tracking will be better then ever before. Thanks to Oliver Otte for his help.
6. The new stats pages should be up and running by Monday morning!

There will be a special certificate printed for DC teams who participate during the event. Each DC member will be eligible to receive a printed certificate. These certificates will only be awarded to the top 20 teams. The certificates are different from the individual ones and clearly state that they’re DC Team related! It’s time to show your teams true strength

Ok for those wondering about new stats, I'll be in close contact with CJ via phone over the next few days as we run over the new stats system. Seems Oliver did a lot for chessbrain to better improve the official stats system. As soon as we have everything worked out I'll relay information to Dyyranth and mack so they may adjust their statistics engines accordingly.

Yo,

I have the new CB version going on OS X and Mandrake 8.1 but my Win98 box inits, selects its route, but never crunches anything. All other boxes are getting moves except the win box and its on same LAN segment as the Mandrake dually.

Any suggestions from you Windows types?

1. Yes I have the registration number in it.
2. No (as Howard would ask) I am not out of disk space, have not OCd my machine, do not have bad RAM, etc :D

The windows client is fine in NT but there are reports of it not working in windows 9x

I think the stats on the official page won't update anymore so you have kept your 2nd place.

Whats Important is that Free-DC fended off the challenge from US d and won Phase 2 :cheers:

Yes phase two stats are frozen, you will not see any more stats updates for a bit. I worked with CJ to help out with database/table structures for the new client stats as well as the output for raw stats. If we're lucky, we may have something midweek for you guys to look at.

Will there still be an hourly stats update or just the daily one ?

Phase 2 hourly stats still appear to be working.
Since the stats are supposed to be frozen this is a bit odd.

In the end it was quite close, though. Them having better output scores than we did. Anyway, I've readied my boxes for the new rush :jester: :smoking:
