I am sorry to say that as of yesterday I have suffered a personal loss that will make it difficult for me to pay much attention to DC for awhile

I ask that another member of Team USA accept the captains position for now and lead the guantlet

I am sorry for any trouble this causes but I am not in it right now

I hope you all understand my absence for a short time and I will be in a better situation to explain later

Hey Jason,

As a guy who has given you a bit of a hard time (all in good fun - I think you understand), let me be serious for a moment and wish you all the best. I feel sorry for your loss, and you don't owe anyone an apology or an explanation for any absence, of any length, that you wish to take. This is a volunteer project, and as much as we like to feel that our DC work is important, in the grand scheme of things it pales in comparison to family, friends, education, career, taking care of one's self, etc. Did I mention family and friends? Good, because that is what matters the most.

Take some time and take care of yourself first. Without your own faculties, you can't help anyone else. Come back when and ONLY when your life is back in order. DF and Free-DC will go on regardless of any one individual's absence.

Should you choose to return, understand that you'll be welcomed with some witty barbs, and perhaps a line or two about how we took over the world during your absence. :D

I ended up talking to A99 on AIM tonight. He wanted me to tell everyone that he is currently in the process of moving and that he'd be up in a week or two at his new place.
