Heads up! :bouncy:

I just browsed to http://www.chessbrain.net and noticed that the match already has progressed to move #5 :scared:

Good luck to the team  , that we may fence off the threat of US-DC :bonk:

It seems something happened. All dots from PeerNode network map disappear.

http://www.chessbrain.net/netmap-flash.html

Or that is normal?

nordu conferance canceled (http://www.nordu.org/NordU2004/) But WRA to go on.
I'll bet this caused some problems.

Maybe they will cancel WRA then?

From what I know, only a part of the conference was cancelled. At least the Tutorials take place. And, more important, the WRA does.

edorajh
01-30-2004, 10:16 AM
WRA already take place or will in 5pm?

This link shows the start times in US relative to Denmark time (http://www.chessbrain.net/wra.html)

It's 8:50 MST here so it looks like 10:00 more minutes. The work we were seeing before must have been testing.

Are we (CB) black or white?

nearly missed it. Was browsing through the forums earlier and noticed a refence to the attempt being today.

I then panicked cos I was an hour away from my machine (which was swithced off) and I wasn't sure what time the wra started.

Luckily I rang home and my mum was there to turn it on.

(She first rang me back, described what she had done - which turned out to be turining the monitor on for me :haddock: , but I explained things and she eventually turned it on for me). ]

All this was in vain however as I've got home at 3.50 GMT, and the record will prob be starting any min now.

Well, looks like it will be starting any minute, so lets go out and kick some @ss

:Pokes: :|punch|: :bonk:

somewhere it said that the WRA would take about 4-5 hours, so i am guessing that even if you add a boxen or two after it starts, it may still be counted.

i am adding more now

Ditto here. Can't find superNode, and I can't even get the chessbrain.net web site now.

Must have crashed that 800 pound elephant (gorilla?) hosting site :scared:

if i have 50+ CB clients on a LAN connected to the internet via DSL (only 128KBps upload speed) and the supernode goes down, do those 50+ CB clients flood my upload trying to connect to the supernode? effectively DDoS'ing myself?

my DF clients i was uploading have quit and won't start :whip:

i think there is too much traffic :stretcher

Just stopped by to see if you guys had any official word on what's going on with CB but I see that you are as much in the dark as we are. If we hear of anything I'll be back and post. Hey and good luck to ya!

The CB MOC color changes to red when the client hasn't seem a work request for ever so long - about 900 seconds, I think - 15 minutes.

the stupidnode must be down again, i have 54 red clients :bang:

1863 seconds and counting for the least idle of my boxen

Willy was faster, but I have additional info:

blue: last 3 seconds
some sort of pink (I'm color blind :D): 3 secs < x < 60 secs
black: x > 60 secs
red: like willy said
I hope that's right...

Consitering this was the first attempt at something like this Murphys law pretty much had to factor in. I'm sure when CJ gets the chance he will update us on what was going on. It was interesting to partisapate in non the less.

Thanks to all
