For those who haven't noticed, the Arachnid Stats have been offline since last night. This was caused by a rather severe hardware problem requiring some replacement parts. They've shown up and I should have time to get the stuff back up and running later tonight. Hang in there stats fans, it shouldn't be much longer.

On a related note, I'd like to welcome bok (and his buddies) to Free-DC. We've talked a bit by email over the last couple of days and he's going to be helping me with some of the stats/site related work. To say that this is an unforseen blessing would be an understatement. We've both got fairly serious 'real life' workloads, but hopefully, with his help, I'll be able to get a great deal more accomplished around here.

For those who don't know bok, here's an example of the fantastic stats work he did for US-D.

In addition to helping me out with some programming/design stuff, he's also brought us together with the leader of the Eon project. This is a project Free-DC is already participating in that could use a hand with forum space. Since one of our goals around here is to promote distributed computing in any way we can, I'm happy to announce that Free-DC has offered to host the Eon project's forums for as long as they need them. Check the Hosted Forums area of our boards for the new addition.
