View Full Version : Dont get caught in the stampede
I wish the online translators were a bit better.
I try my contribution do iig and I continue hang iig after the Stampede. I consider the termination date of the Stampede a beetje briefly, because I see that we can will save best sometimes for Ars Tech. to catch up with within some weeks. The more so if we remain this way by rossen. After Ars FreeDc are then also nevertheless nice in visibility

might change and instead of 1 month they are looking at number 1.
We shall see after the 14th.

I've been wondering about that over the last week or so myself. Instead of slowing down once they reached #3 in the standings, DPC have rather snowballed and continued to pick up members. If the stampede continues after the 14th, and we want to stay #1 in DF, we might want to consider a resource shift to try and build more of a lead over Ars.
It's also worth considering that, should DPC reach #2, Ars will likely start a recruiting drive of their own. I then see DPC and Ars locked in a "Beef Stir Fry" battle royal. :p Needless to say, we would need every point of production to hold off both teams, and we would be smart to start sooner rather than later.
Just some thoughts, and hoping I'm wrong about all of this.... :D

I was thinking along the lines of a nice ginger sauce, slightly reduced for a bit of texture. I've always enjoyed ginger with beef. Now if it was chicken, I'd consider a subtle plum sauce.

they just want to do SETI , they think it is ending "soon" (soon means 4 years?) :sleepy:
as for the cows, they obviously have the firepower to do whatever they want. even if they stay long enough to take #1 , they will eventually head to other projects. the boxen crunching DF for DPC isn't new boxen , they were running other projects before the stampede.
individuals will want to maintain their places in other projects

Hard to tell what the cows will do... but if you take a good look at the overall ranking for the DC-Repository, if the cows keep at it they will take a little goodie away from ARS in beating them to the DF #1 category. Once the cows have #1, they can turn loose of some of that firepower and just keep enough on it to keep #1 If they are playing the DCR stats game, once this seti session goes away, and the seti stats drop off the chart, they have to have other stuff to maintain their high positions. So we may be seing a hard press by the cows for quite a while yet...

I'm don't know if you are really interested, but I will try to explain it. :)
The Stampede (our 'answer' to Ars' Gauntlet) has some fixed rules and one of those rules is that it lasts one month and not a day longer. That means that the virtual subteam stats will stop on that day. A lot of members will return or move to other projects and other users (hopefully a lot) will stay on. Besides the huge powershift we also managed (thanks to some frontpage pimpage on www.tweakers.net) to attract some 500 new members. Those were members not running ANY DC-project up until that day. That is the biggest gain/win for DPC and DC in general I think.
To be honest. We ourselves are completely oblivious of the power that will remain on DFolding when the stampede ends. Shall I start a poll on our forum? ;)
