Hey russ. Welcome to Free-DC.
I see you're a fellow Aussie, not that geography is particularly important in a net-based community. And I am new here myself.
Have you picked a DC project to run yet? IMO the best ones to run are the ones that involve science or medicine; I reckon it's better to donate your time to a cause that will help people. There's a forum for each project we're involved with, and most of them have step-by-step instructions on how to get started, written by people who have been there and done it.
Anyhoo, best of luck and happy crunching.
