Hmm I'll be off-line for at least a few days as I think my Modem is dying on me...
Currently Connected at 14,400 (yeah I know It should be at least 44,000) :|

If it wasn't overseas, I have close to a dozen wintel 56K V.90 modems I am throwing out next week.

I would also check the status if your phone line. If you have really staticy calls on the landline, get the wiring in between the box and house replaced (at least that's how it is in the states)

Had to have that done a couple of times during the 15+ years the family has had dialup (go acoustic coupler (I think that is the right name!))

Well it was the modem, got a new one today and it's running fine, need the gain checked on the line now but Its only for a month at most :D getting broadband within the month :D
