What does all this mumbo-jumbo mean?

# PeerNode Network Monitor Server
# Enter the IP address of the PeerNode Network Monitor Server
# The server uses port 3434, so you may need to open it on your firewall
# Use an IP address such as 127.0.0.1 if you're running a PeerNode monitor
# Use netmon=* if you are *not* running a PeerNode monitor. If you set an
# IP address and you're not running a monitor - then you'll actually slow
# down your client as it tries to connect to a monitor that isn't running!!
#netmon=*

No matter what I put
netmon=*
netmon=*192.168.2.5
netmon=192.168.2.5

I even try to change it under advanced networking and enter it in there, click ok, and when I check back, it's still at the default of 0.0.0.0 and when I restart, it says monitoring is going to port 127.0.0.1 !

Nothing works, cbmoc.jar gets nothing and neither does pnnetmon.exe

What's a fella gotta do to get it to work with these new cb clients? :bang:

Shall we assume you are starting the client using the cli interface that uses the .conf file? Something like:
c:\CB01\cbpncli.exe 1,c:\CB01

Otherwise it uses settings from the registry I believe, and ignores the .conf file.

who just found 4 remote DF clients blissfully crunching away and not uploading - for no apparent reason. Since I was able to connect to them by VPN/RDC they obviously are talking to the world.

Check the ChessBrain front page (http://www.chessbrain.net) for SuperNode status. There's a graph near the bottom that shows StupidNode activity.

It appears to be not sending out work right now.

You going to throw the whole IB super-farm at Chessbrain to get us past US-D ?

IB

What are you trying to do ?
The registry keys are not required if you use the conf file.

The client only uses 4mb of memory if you don't use the conf file and will be slower.

I'm trying to get work!!! ;)

I'm using cbmoc.jar to monitor the nodes, but until I get work, I won't know if that's working or not.
I'm also testing out the correct quantity of clients per boxen to run that produces the best yield.

My 'superfarm' is no more, not even 1/2 of it is left, but, I am trying to have fun. :|party|:
