Are the 2400+ and 2500+ about equal for DF, or does one shine? Your experience?

Some apps seem to do better under one or the other.

i have a crap load of 2400+ here at work, but no 2500+ to compare

i assume you mean the Barton 2500+ vs. the "normal" Athlon 2400+

there seems to be less than $10 difference in price, i assume the extra FSB Mhz and cache would be helpful

if i upgrade my main home desktop this summer, it will probably be to a Barton 2500+ unless the 2800+ / 3000+ drops in price significantly

My 2500 Barton is slightly faster than my 2400. I haven't bench marked them. Both run Linux, I work on the Barton. Haven't overclocked it, have heard it is better for ocing.

How 'bout the Athlon Mobile XP 2400+. It comes unlocked, Barton core with 512K L2 cache, default VCore = 1 .45, runs alot cooler, OC's easily to 2400MHz+ and works in the newer MB's, just drop in. Runs about $77 at newegg.com

i have a 2400 on a biostar with onbd video. does very well. if they lowered the price more i would go with those. i have three 2500s. [think i left one on an rma board :bang:]

a7V8x/2500xp with stock fan works best for me, 2.2gz, but the 2400 keeps up.

the a7v8x i only use one stick memory compared with two on a7n8x and it clocks higher.
accidently bought some micro atx boards and the ones i had would not even run at cpu rated speed.
