on CD but no way of uploading it.
I'll probably come on back to DF once we have a sustainable protein, or they sort the server.
Until then I have no way to get the points uploaded so haven't got the boxen running.

The othe box I'm running had 309 buffered. It has taken 4 hours to upload 150+ with "-u t". That farging sucks.
I can only imagine what a nightmare the big producers have if they get backed upon strucs.
WTF is with the servers Howard? :Pokes:

WOW!!!! Only 4 hours to upload 150+ gens.... I should be so lucky. I spent 3 days *trying* to upload about 2,800 and I just finally gave up.
Really really ticks me off for a couple of reasons. First off it really scrunches up the team scoring, and doesn't put anyone on an equal footing in competing for reasonable server access. The teams crunch out a horrendous number of gens for the project. Without the teams, the project wouldn't reach it's goals in the time frames allowed by multiple team participation.
Secondly, it seems like a pretty elitish snobbish attitude for a distributed computing project to take in regards to the quite extensive assets many people direct towards assisting the project team to complete their project. Many of the people crunching invest considerable time, money, and effort into their "hobby." A project that truly appreciates the donation of these assets should put a little more effort in to ensuring that the "crunchees" remain a happy lot..... otherwise they may find interest and efforts in behalf of their project diminishing. And that is exactly what is currently happening with Distributed Folding.
And in this process of people quitting DF crunching on the current project and moving to something else to crunch, along the line somewhere, a number of these people won't return to DF cause they will have found something else that they enjoy.......... possibly even a distributed computing project that really appreciates their efforts and is willing to communicate and work with the crunchees so they are happy, and the DC project members are happy. But it sure isn't happening with DF.
