I just thought I'd post here and thank whoever is responsible for the Linux Alpha client of MD5CRK. While it is fairly slow (Min/Ave/Max Rate: 0.59/0.59/0.60 MegaMD5/sec), I'm still happy to know that my machine is doing *something* other than searching for aliens.

Thanks again!

Glad to. If you know anyone who does Alpha Assembly, point them at http://www.md5crk.com/?sec=howhelp and tell them their help in writting an optimized MD5 core for the Alpha would be very helpful.

Sheesh, that really is slow. Hopefully that isn't a dedicated cruncher, DP?

It's a play box that I got to mess around and learn some extra stuff.... but currently, about all it does is crunch

I hear ya. I'd love an Alpha to mess around with. If you ever get bored with that puppy, let me know ;)
