My needs are few but specific

I want a small download as far as WUs.

I have a laptop that can connect to the 'Net.

I have 20+ P4 nonets that I don't want to have to visit individually to install a service.

I need to be able to monitor the client remotely.

Need something to replace DF as I've had it with that.

Everyone's complete resource for DC news and project info. If you can't find a project that suits you on that website, there probably isn't one.

Fozzie -

I've been hitting the MD5CRK client pretty hard lately. It's a good client, simple to setup, small uploads, etc.

Check it out at http://www.md5crk.com/

Well, my favourite projects are those from distributed.net (http://www.distributed.net/). Check them out.

And in both their projects we (Free-DC) are approaching top 100 teams. So, any help will be appreciated. ;)

Why not try the DPAD project? (Distributed Particle Accelerator Design). It seems like it staisfies all your requirements, and Free-DC is slowly on the slide there

The program itself is about half a meg to download, and there is no need to download WUs; the program generates them itself.

Having a bunch of nonet computers is no problem at all. I have written a small program called GRAB that allows you to easily load completed WUs onto a floppy disk, and then send them all at once from your sole net-capable box.

Since the client creates its own WUs, there is hardly any need to monitor the client at all. All you'd have to do is once a week go round to all your computers and fetch the WUs.

Anyhoo, enough rambling from moi. You can read about DPAD

here (http://stephenbrooks.org/muon1/v5.html).

PS: If anyone is interested in my silly little program, send me a PM.
