Now the life mapper site is just about down. Has everyone from DF gone there??

Looks like EON, NSFNET, Climate P, and a ikkle bit of seti.:drums:

Helix, this is actually very common with LM. It will go down for an hour or two once or twice a week, without warning, & they will have a planned 1 or 2 day outage once or twice a month. This will be posted on their forum.

An easy way to circumvent this is to use the "-c" & "-f" tags to keep a large cache in reserve & make it crunch off-line. When you have a bunch saved up, & notice the site is running OK, that's a good time to remove the "-f" & send all your results in & re-cache the cache.

With just a little management like this, it'll run forever. For optimum performance, & large caches, you also need the newest ".03" client.

All this stuff is posted here somewhere, but if you can't find it, let somebody know & they'll point you in the right direction.

managed to get it downloading about an hour after my post. i have two clients running on a dual 1GHz PIII 24/7

Have joined the FreeDC team

have 20 wu buffered on each now.
