I'm livid that we aren't getting any credit for all that work that was uploaded yesterday.

The COWS can have this stinking project.

I need another project that I can run from inside my firewall. Which one needs a boost and will get us some bang on the DCR stats?

"..it had a side effect of some peoples' tickets on rare occasion getting the same name..."

That is sooo Howard.

willy1 you can help out on the EON front. As far as I know DCR is dead, it hasn't updated in weeks.

I doubt Eon will go through his firewall though...

How about md5crk? It has a proxy option, though I've never tried it. Can you use a proxy there or does it need to use standard ports? You can always sneakernet md5, very easily.

As for the DCR, this was the last news :

2004-04-12: There has been a death in my family. I will be out of town for the next 1.5 weeks, so no new stats will be posted during this time.

So, I think we'll see it back at some point.

The DCR isn't dead. If you'll look at the "News" page on the DCR site, you'll see this:

So, I think we should cut the guy a little slack.

DF, on the other hand, has had more slack than they deserve.

I need a client that will use standard ports (80 or 23). It's not a proxy server that is blocking anything.

I also will not do sneakernetting. The client needs to be able to run unattended for long periods on multiple CPU W2K server OS boxes. A plus would be clients that run in the background or system toolbar, as opposed to running in a dos window minimized to the taskbar. I generally do not run any clients as a service.

As of an hour ago, I'm spreading the power out between LM, SoB, NFSNET, DNET and Prime 95. ( I know, some of those run in dos windows)

Both FAD and Childhood diseases/TSC have clients that run as taskbar icons, with optional windows you can popup to view status. I'm fairly sure they just use port 80 I tried to find the faq that said this and didnt yet. TSC shares the same D2OL engine from Sengent as some other projects, so those other project probably can be run as taskbar icons too.
