blah blah blah the only thing keeping DPC from the #1 spot is the numerous team hoppers. No sport at all.

So until we don't see any increase in your daily output, we just laugh at your hilarious attempt to scare us with empty words. :rotfl:

Burgers, steaks, :moon: roast, whatever floats your boat, cooked to order. We've got a rather large bbq/smoker out back so we can handle any needs. Besides, IB has promised to cart over the fridge, so what more would we need.

No, it's not a thong, but that was a good guess.

Naw, it looks more like one of those necklace things worn around the hips. In actuality, she's probably not wearing any underwear.

In other news related to the original topic of this thread, it appears that Fozzie has procured for me the 1 Terawatt generator and a working prototype of...
A FLUX CAPACITOR!!! :scared:

The electric fence should be getting quite a boost once these components are in place. :p

bwkaz
06-14-2004, 07:00 AM
But, um, all capacitors have flux; that's why they work... Well, electric flux at least (that is, a changing electric field). During charging and discharging, in any case (the field is proportional to either the charge on the plates, or the square of that charge, I don't remember exactly).

</nitpicking>

I'm sorry, I had to. ;)

Now that terawatt generator, on the other hand... :scared:

If this is true, you can flush more than us for just 1 day! But you need at about 300 computers extra to produce an equal output every day.

At DPC we are all optimistic about the whole group :) this is what makes us stronger than any team in the world!

Okay there's laughing and truth - Doing the math:

Teams overall @ 1/1/2004
FDC=4.444.060.804
DPC=889.425.160

Teams overall @ 24/6/2004
FDC=15.186.426.839
DPC=14.718.821.391

Difference in production 1/1/2004 -- 24/6/2004:
Diff. FDC=15.186.426.839 -/- 4.444.060.804 = 10.742.366.035
Diff. DPC=14.718.821.391 -/- 889.425.160 = 13.829.396.231

Doing the math:
Output DPC vs. Output FDC in %:
13.829.396.231 / 10.742.366.035 x 100% ~ 129 %

Output FDC vs. Output DPC in %:
10.742.366.035 / 13.829.396.231 x 100% ~78%

Translation of the numbers:
DPC is doing on average 129% of FDC's output.
Or, in other words
FDC's output is only 78% of our output.

This is measured over more than 6 months (1/1/2004 -- 24/6/2004)

The conclusion based on the numbers:
We're doing a (much) bigger output than you guys measured over a longer period of time. That also means that 1 flush of FDC will only prospone te inevitable, because of our average higher output.

Forecast:
FDC will have to flush and/or inplement their plan in a hurry; in about one week the 145-gen will be replaced. This is also true for DPC.

This means the forecast is: A showdown between FDC and DPC within the next 1 to 2 weeks. Their flushing-powers will meet in a battle of epic proportions.

Dumping of not-before-seen huge amouts of gens will probably test the servers to their max. Hope df has printed enough tickets for all gens that want entrance to the server.

Only time will tell who wins . . . And time is running short.

But based on the numbers DPC WILL TAKE #1

Fozzie

06-25-2004, 07:53 AM
saving/dumping doesn't work during CASP , with protein changes every week, if you don't get your gens. uploaded ASAP, you might not get them in for credit.

there was no grace period for credit during the last CASP (IIRC) , that benefit was added later. i don't know how that will work, but i don't think they'll be able to extend it , so online crunchers have an advantage over saver/dumpers during the quick turnarounds of CASP

That's why my forecast. FDC & DPC will have to fush before CASP starts. And that will be in 1 to 2 weeks from now.

Hence the upcoming "battle of epic proportions" & "the not-before-seen huge dumps"

Quality over quanity ;) Yeah, but that 31 members have a lot more boxen each than one DPC members has. And that has some advantages, for example, we can lose sf and MrMr and still outperform you. MrMr is doing only 400.000 a day and sf wasn't flushing anything until yesterday. So, we can lose a lot of members and still score well, while you can't, because one leaving/ retiring member has a lot more impact.

Don't forget that Free-DC is going to do with DPC the same thing that yesterday Portugal did to Holland.

Nope- this isn't the "Knights Who Say Ni!" forum. That's probably good -- the Black Knight is not one of the Knights Who Say Ni. Nor is he one of the Knights Who Until So Recently Said Ni.

But I suppose that never stopped anybody else, so...

"A scratch! Your arm's off!"

"No it isn't!"

"Well what's that then?"

"I've had worse."

"You lie!"

<more fighting>

"Look you stupid <well, I probably ought not...>, you've got no arms left!"

"Yes I have."

"Look!"

<Black Knight pauses>

"It's just a flesh wound."

:p Aaah, I like Monty Python and the Holy Grail. I like it so much that I have never turned on the subtitles for people who don't like the movie :p.

But Fozzie is quite sure that we should fear the might of FreeDC, I hope he has his calculations right and that is isn't just something that will end up as a good laugh for DPC. :rotfl:

Laughing does a body good. :) (so long as it is the right person doing the laughing) ;)

Stats are down, we can't flush so we can't overtake #1. Was this the secret weapon against us mooers? :spank:
