Hey gang!

I love this project, which is why I am seeking to join. :)

Is there a link I click to join? I found your site, but for some reason I cannot connect to the server for joining, it would saying Connecting to host: then it would stop with no page not found or anything.

Seem odd?

Thanks in advance!!

Hi, Steve! Ummm, kinda need to know *which* project you'd like to join us on. Essentially, just hanging here gets you team status if that's what you want. For joining up on a particular project, we would sorta have to know which one, 'cause they're all different.

So specifically, which link gave the error & we'll try to go from there. :)

Well, problem fixed, I proxied up and it works, *scratches head* anywho, would anyone happen to have a link to join the FDC?

/#Edit - I am not sure which project to join, I don't even know the listings of them... Anyone have a list to hand out for me to view and choose?

Many Thanks!

Personally, I'm not familiar with those projects, so I'll leave the joining information to someone else, but welcome to Free-DC. :hiya: It's good to have you crunching with us, so make yourself at home. You might want to start with a visit to IronBits' :fridge:

Welcome, Steve!

As folks have said, just hanging out here means you belong to Free-DC, as long as you say you do <g>.

There are a lot of worthy projects out there. Some work better with some hardware and/or software than others. You might want to post which OS or OSs you use, and whether you are running Intel, AMD, Sun, SGI or whatever kit. Then folks could suggest which projects you might do best in. For example, I recently found out that BeOS totally sucks on my favourite DC project.

For historical reasons, no one here will tell you what project to run. But, if you tell us a bit about what you want to get out of distributed computing and a bit about your kit, we should be able to offer some suggestions about which projects you may wish to look at first. Oh, and whether you are on a dial up or some kind of dedicated line. There are some projects you just can't do on a dial up, and others that work very well with a modem.
